Motorcyclist dies in northern Idaho after crashing into water truck

BONNER COUNTY — A 70-year-old man was killed Saturday morning in a two-vehicle crash in northern Idaho.
The crash happened around 10:20 a.m. on Spirit Lake Cutoff Road near Beare Road in Bonner County, according to the Idaho State Police.
The Hauser man was riding a Harley-Davidson motorcycle northbound when he failed to navigate a curve and lost control, ISP says in a news release. Authorities say the motorcycle crossed the center line into the southbound lane, where it collided with a southbound water truck.
The motorcyclist was wearing a helmet but died at the scene. His name has not been released.
Both directions of traffic on Spirit Lake Cutoff Road were closed for approximately three hours as emergency crews responded.
