Giants Running Back David Wilson Out for Thursday’s Game Versus Bears
Published at(EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J.) — Running back David Wilson will not play for the New York Giants Thursday night against the Chicago Bears, Giants head coach Tom Coughlin announced Tuesday.
Wilson left last weekend’s game against the Eagles when he injured his neck.
With Wilson out, the Giants waived defensive end Justin Trattou and re-signed running back Da’Rel Scott, who was waived last week. Scott joins Brandon Jacobs and Michael Cox as the only running backs on the Giants roster.
Giants offensive coordinator Kevin Gilbride says Jacbos will start Thursday night against the Bears.
“It’ll be a challenge,” Gilbride said. “It’s a challenge if you had everybody, because they’re such a talented defense. They’re powerful and strong It’s going to be difficult, but we’ll see what happens.”
Giants head coach Tom Coughlin called Wilson “week to week.”
