Missing Montana man found dead in state park

POCATELLO — Officials have reported that the missing Montana man who was believed to be in Idaho has been found dead at a local state park.

Kee Ray Begay Jr., 53, was found deceased at Massacre Rocks State Park on Dec. 28, according to a news release from the Power County Sheriff’s Office.

An investigation is still ongoing, but no further information has been released.

The sheriff’s office was assisted in the search for Begay by Power County Search and Rescue, Power County EMS, Massacre Rocks State Park, and Bingham County Search and Rescue.

“The Power County Sheriff’s Office extends its condolences to the family of Mr. Begay,” the release states.

Begay last spoke to his wife on Dec. 21, 2025, and his cell phone pinged near Interstate 86 around milepost 28. He was last seen driving a black 2014 Dodge Avenger.
