Danny Granger’s Comeback on Hold Another Three Weeks
Published at(INDIANAPOLIS) — Indiana Pacers forward Danny Granger will miss the next three weeks with a strained left calf, the team announced Monday.
The 30-year-old Granger missed all but five games last season with a left knee injury that required surgery. Granger was ready for training camp and has played throughout the preseason before injuring the calf.
The fact that the former All-Star was injured again before playing a regular season game caused concern with Pacers’ fans, but Granger seems to think it’s all good.
“Oh, no, it’s not discouraging at all,” Granger said. “It’s a muscle strain. When you’re dealing with a muscle strain, it’s a lot different than if you’re dealing with a joint injury. My knee’s been fine, I’m very happy. I had a muscle strain — no big deal.”
Throughout eight NBA seasons, Granger has averaged 18.1 points, 5.2 rebounds, two assists and one steal per game.
