REXBURG — Officials say they’ve seized a large amount of drugs and firearms following a multi-year investigation into drug trafficking in eastern Idaho.

Detectives and several local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies recently executed multiple search warrants that led to seizures of illegal drugs in Madison County and throughout eastern Idaho, according to a Facebook post from the Madison County Sheriff’s Office.

The locations of the search warrants, and if anybody was charged or arrested, is unclear.

“As a result of these warrants, detectives seized a large quantity of illegal drugs, firearms, and vehicles,” says the post.

According to deputies, the items that were seized included:

  • Over 1,600 THC cartridges containing over 6 pounds of THC
  • 79 grams of psilocybin mushrooms
  • 2.8 pounds of raw marijuana
  • 180 grams of THC wax
  • 56 grams of THC honey
  • 81 grams of THC edibles
  • 6 grams of heroin
  • 11 firearms

“This operation is a testament to the hard work and dedication of the investigators and partner agencies involved,” says the post. “By working together, we continue to disrupt the flow of illegal drugs into our communities and hold those responsible accountable.”

Detectives say they will continue working closely with their law enforcement partners to identify, investigate, and hold accountable those who bring illegal narcotics into our community.

The investigation remains ongoing, and officials say they hope to provide additional updates in the near future.

“Thank you to everyone involved for their commitment to keeping Madison County safe,” says the post.

The investigations are done with support from the Rexburg Police Department, Fremont County Sheriff’s Office, Idaho Falls Police Department, Bonneville County Sheriff’s Office, Idaho State Police, Homeland Security Investigations, and the United States Postal Inspection Service.
