Local chiropractor charged for allegedly pulling woman out of car and slapping children

IDAHO FALLS – A local chiropractor has been charged with multiple misdemeanors regarding two separate incidents where he allegedly dragged a woman out of a car and slapped two children.
Brady Fielding, 39, is charged in one case with misdemeanor domestic battery without traumatic injury against a household member, stemming from an alleged incident on April 12. In another case, he is charged with two counts of misdemeanor injury to a child, stemming from another alleged incident on June 20.
Fielding is a local chiropractor who formerly owned Brady Chiropractic. The business has recently closed, according to Google. The business’s phone number has been disconnected, and the website has been taken down.
EastIdahoNews.com has reached out to Fielding’s defense attorney, James Pendlebury, for comment, but has not yet heard back. We will update if we learn more.
The first case
According to court documents, Bonneville County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a domestic disturbance on April 12.
When they arrived, a woman stated that she and her five children were in a white Chevrolet Suburban, preparing to leave for a birthday party when Fielding came to the home and “demanded the vehicle, stating he needed it to pick up a kitchen table.”
The woman refused to give Fielding the car, so he allegedly opened the driver’s-side door and tried to take her purse, phone, and car keys. The woman pushed him away, so Fielding reportedly moved to the passenger side, where a young girl was sitting, and tried to take her phone.
He then reportedly returned to the driver’s side, took the woman’s keys, got into another car and left. Soon, Fielding returned to the home allegedly and “pulled (the woman) out of the vehicle by her upper arm,” causing a dark red mark left by his fingers, according to deputies.
Fielding then got in the driver’s seat, started the car, and began backing up with the doors still open as some of the children tried to get out. All five children got out of the car, and Fielding drove away.
According to the woman’s account, given to officers, Fielding had never physically harmed her before, but had been “manipulatively abusive, controlling finances.”
The deputy interviewed four of the five children who were old enough to provide a statement. All of the children provided similar accounts, with one stating that Fielding continually called the woman a “psycho” during the incident.
Deputies attempted to contact Fielding by phone but were unsuccessful.
According to deputy reports, an alert for a suburban with Brady Chiropractic signage was issued on the nearby FLOCK cameras. Another deputy observed the car near 17th Street and Ammon Road on FLOCK twenty minutes after the disturbance was reported.
A warrant for Fielding’s arrest was issued on April 27. He was booked and released on the same day. He has pleaded not guilty to the charge.
In this case, Fielding is expected to appear for a pre-trial conference on July 22. If convicted, he could face up to six months in county jail.
Second case
According to court documents, an Idaho Falls Police officer responded on June 20 at around 10:41 p.m. to a call about a physical disturbance at a home.
When police arrived, Fielding stated that his children had been “disrespectful” toward him and his girlfriend.
Fielding said he was attempting to speak with the children about rules and discipline while they were at his home, but that the “situation escalated” and he slapped a 12-year-old boy and a 14-year-old girl in the face with an open hand “due to their continued disrespect.”
Fielding told the officer that he “did not strike them hard enough to leave any marks” and that his “intent was to get their attention rather than cause pain.”
When officers spoke with the children, they stated that Fielding “lost his temper” and slapped them both. Officers report that both children had redness on their faces where they reported being struck.
The young girl also stated that Fielding had pushed her, causing her to fall on top of a bed near the front door.
Fielding was then cited and released and was later charged in connection with the incident.
He is expected to appear for a pre-trial conference on Aug. 19. If convicted in this case, he could face up to one year in prison.
Though Fielding has been charged with these crimes, it does not necessarily mean he committed them. Everyone is presumed innocent until they are proven guilty.
