McCammon man dies 10 days after surviving house fire rescue

McCAMMON — A McCammon man who was rescued from a house fire earlier this month has died.
Lance Talbot, 58, died Sunday at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center in Idaho Falls, according to the Bonneville County Coroner’s Office.
The coroner’s preliminary investigation determined that the injuries Talbot sustained in the July 2 fire, combined with preexisting medical conditions, ultimately resulted in his death.

According to county officials, emergency dispatchers received a 911 call the evening of July 2 from a homeowner reporting that his mobile home near U.S. Highway 91 and Dixon Road was on fire. The caller said he and his dogs were trapped in a rear bedroom of the burning home.
A Bannock County sheriff’s deputy and a nearby resident rescued Talbot from the burning home before he was airlifted by medical helicopter to the hospital.
Other family members resided at the residence but were not at home when the fire occurred. The mobile home was declared a complete loss.
