MIAMI (Courtroom Insider) — A Cuban man was allegedly found with 10 live birds sewn into his underwear at the Miami International Airport.
CBS reports that on Oct. 4, Alberto Hernandez Castillo, 40, arrived at the Miami International Airport on a flight from Havana.
Castillo marked “No” to all the questions asking if he was bringing animals into the country on his Customs Entry Declaration form, according to NBC 6.

U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers selected Castillo for secondary inspection, and during questioning, they noted an “unexplained bulge” near his pelvic area, CBS reports. After escorting Castillo to a private area for a search, officers allegedly found six tubes wrapped in tape and black mesh hidden in pockets sewn into Castillo’s underwear. Castillo allegedly stashed 10 live birds inside the tubes.

After officers found the birds, Castillo allegedly told them they were for personal use, according to the New York Post.
Castillo has been charged with smuggling goods and has been released on a $25,000 bond.
