Extreme Rush seemingly closes its doors six months after opening in Pocatello

POCATELLO — Just six months after opening, a popular family entertainment center in Pocatello has closed, but conflicting reports leave questions about whether the closure is temporary or permanent.
Extreme Rush, on Pocatello Creek Road in the old Big Lots building, opened in April after years of planning and construction, bringing a multi-level indoor go-kart track, laser tag, arcade games and other interactive attractions to the Gate City.

A sign posted at the business’s entrance Monday night said the facility was temporarily closed for maintenance and operational restructuring.
The notice apologized for the inconvenience and directed customers with questions about previously booked events to contact xtremefunidaho@gmail.com. No anticipated reopening date was provided.

While the sign indicates the closure is temporary, others familiar with the business are suggesting otherwise.
Isaac Gomez, who says he is the owner of Midnight Vending, posted on a Pocatello Facebook page that he previously worked with and for Extreme Rush and that the business has permanently closed.
“I can confirm the unfortunate news that yes, the establishment is permanently closed,” Gomez wrote.
He expressed hope that someone might purchase the facility and reopen its attractions under new ownership.
Plus, several people identifying themselves as employees have reportedly said they were notified by email that they had been laid off.
Meanwhile, neighboring businesses have indicated that Extreme Rush experienced a burst water pipe that was undergoing repairs, suggesting the closure was temporary.
Adding to the confusion, as of Tuesday, Extreme Rush’s website continued to advertise regular operating hours and ticket purchases, with no mention of the closure on its homepage.
However, a separate webpage dated Oct. 19, which appears to be hosted on Extreme Rush’s official website but is not readily accessible through its homepage, states that the business is undergoing reorganization and will remain temporarily closed “for the foreseeable future.”
The announcement provided no anticipated reopening date and directed customers with questions about previously booked parties to owner Sidney Davis at: sidney.davis@extremerushidaho.com.
EastIdahoNews.com reached out to Extreme Rush’s owners for clarification on the facility’s status and whether there are plans to reopen, but had not received a response as of publication.
Years in the making
Extreme Rush was created by Pocatello residents Jason Hebdon and Sidney Davis, who envisioned bringing big-city entertainment options to southeastern Idaho.
The project was originally planned for a site near Chubbuck City Hall but faced numerous delays and construction challenges before being relocated to Pocatello.
Finally, after three years in the making, the 38,000-square-foot entertainment center officially opened April 20, 2026, in the former Big Lots building.
Designed as a year-round destination for families, Extreme Rush was intended to offer entertainment options typically found in larger cities.
For now, the future of the facility remains uncertain.
