Rigby’s Owen Uffens advances on ‘The Voice’ after winning Battle
Published atRIGBY —- East Idaho’s Owen Uffens has advanced on NBC’s “The Voice” after winning his Battle Round against fellow Team Adam contestant and friend Wade Turner.
Uffens, 18, performed Ed Sheeran’s “Dive” alongside Turner during the Oct. 19 episode.
Despite a few nervous moments on stage, Uffens ultimately impressed coach Adam Levine, who praised his distinctive voice and ability to connect emotionally with listeners before choosing him to advance to the competition’s next round, known as Cut Week.
Although the two competed against each other, Uffens said he and Turner developed a close friendship during the show.
“We went in with the attitude of giving our biggest and best performance on the stage,” Uffens said. “He’s one of my best friends on the show. I expect our friendship to last long beyond the competition.”
The two even created a signature handshake, drawing an enthusiastic reaction from the coaches and audience.

What next for Uffens?
Uffens will compete in Cut Week, a new round introduced this season that replaces the traditional Knockout and Playoff rounds.
The competition has narrowed to 28 contestants, with seven singers remaining on each of the four coaches’ teams.
During Cut Week, each coach will select two artists to advance directly to the live shows. The remaining five contestants on each team will compete for one additional spot, leaving three singers per team and 12 overall.
Viewers will then vote to save one additional contestant, bringing the total to 13 artists advancing to the live shows.
Uffens said the continued support from family, friends and fans throughout eastern Idaho has meant a great deal to him. He encourages everyone to tune in and cheer him on as he takes the next step in the competition.
Cut Week airs Monday, Nov. 2, at 7 p.m. Mountain time on NBC, with streaming available the following day on Peacock.
