IDAHO FALLS — Incumbents in District 35 had a good night at the ballot box, with all of them apparently being reelected by their constituents.

According to VoteIdaho.gov’s unofficial results, Idaho Sen. Mark Harris, R-Idaho Falls, Rep. Mike Veile, R-Soda Springs, and Rep. Josh Wheeler, R-Ammon, have won their races.

Harris obtained at least 10,143 votes, while his Democratic candidate, Marty Rotz Kilhefner, received at least 5,338 votes.

Veile received at least 10,083 votes, while Democratic candidate Walter Boyd got at least 5,403 votes and Wheeler got at least 10,132 votes, compared with Kaufman’s at least 5,342 votes.

Veile told EastIdahoNews.com that he is grateful to the people of District 35 for the opportunity to serve them.

“It will be my goal and objective to do the best to represent them, to hear them, to find out what their issues are, and try to do the things that make this state great,” Veile said. “I’m just grateful for all the help I’ve been given, all the support I’ve been given in this effort, and just really happy to have this opportunity again.”

District 35 is comprised of Bannock, Bear Lake, Bonneville, Caribou and Teton counties. As of midnight Wednesday, Caribou and Bear Lake have a few precincts still partially reporting, while others are fully reported.
