Earl “Clark” Lemmon, a resident of Rexburg, Idaho, passed away on May 5, 2026, at Homestead Assisted Living, The Cottages. He was born on March 30, 1942, in Tucson, Arizona, to Wayne Alton Lemmon and Eula Mae Clark.

Clark dedicated his life to learning and service. He earned a PhD in Mechanical Engineering and built a respected career working at Idaho National Laboratory (INL) in Idaho Falls and at the University of Idaho in Moscow, Idaho. Throughout his adult life, he made his home in Tucson, Arizona; Idaho Falls, Idaho; Moscow, Idaho; Rigby, Idaho, and finally Rexburg, Idaho.

Clark was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, he served twice as bishop in Moscow, he served a mission in Kentucky, and served as a stake executive secretary, but his favorite calling was in the nursery, He was a good guy!!! He was actively involved in ASME and urban renewal efforts in Rigby, Idaho. In fact, he was instrumental in getting grants for the new playground equipment at the South Park in Rigby.

On September 4, 1964, he married Nancy Jo Orme. Clark enjoyed the outdoors and was known for his love of snow skiing, water skiing, four-wheeling, snowmobiling, kayaking, hiking, and family camping.

He is survived by his wife, Nancy Lemmon; his four sons; his two sisters; 13 grandchildren; and 5 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, May 12, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. at Eckersell Funeral Home. A visitation will take place prior to the service from 11:30 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. Interment will follow at Fielding Memorial Cemetery.
