Obituary Geraldine C. Sevy
May 8th, 1940 - July 30th, 2018
Geraldine Clark Sevy, 78, of Idaho Falls, passed away July 30, 2018, at her home.
Geraldine was born May 8, 1940, in Logan, Utah, to Morris Fredrick Clark and Virginia Johnson and lovingly raised by her mother and stepfather, Paul Brickey. She was the oldest of 7 children. She grew up and attended schools in the area and graduated from American High School. A highlight from her life in Logan was singing live radio commercials with her mom and sister, Susan. She also took Brigham Young University (BYU) correspondence courses and certified as a reading instructor. Geraldine held a Master’s degree from the School of Life.
On September 1, 1957, she married David G. Sevy in Boise, Idaho. Their marriage was solemnized in the Logan LDS Temple on October 1, 1963. To this union were born six children: James, Sherrie, Deborah, Brian, Caroline, and Aaron. Geraldine and David made their home in Caldwell, Idaho, where Geraldine was a devoted wife, mother, and homemaker. She also was a seamstress and a teacher of reading, helping many students graduate from high school. She retired from the Caldwell School District. In 1982, Geraldine and David moved to Idaho Falls.
She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She enjoyed sewing, costume design, art, and loved books and reading. She especially loved her family and spending time with them.
Geraldine is survived by her
loving husband of 61 years, David Sevy, of Idaho Falls, ID;
son, James C. (Carol) Sevy of Sugar City, ID;
daughter, Sherrie Lynn (Paul) Chretien of Sacramento, UT;
daughter, Deborah (John) Bowman of Orem, UT;
son, Brian (Tammi) Sevy of Boise, ID;
daughter, Caroline (Christian) Shull of Idaho Falls, ID;
sister, Susan (Jack) King of Homedale, ID;
sister, Laura (Merlin) Williams of Waseca, MN;
brother, Kelly (William) Brickey of Yucca Valley, CA;
brother, Kim (Donna) Lawrence of Boise, ID;
stepfather, Paul Brickey of Boise, ID;
30 grandchildren and 33 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her father, Morris Fredrick Clark; mother, Virginia Brickey; son, Aaron Robert Sevy; brothers, Leo Lawrence and David Brickey; and grandmother, Caroline Johnson.
