(NEW YORK) — Long-time New York Yankees catcher Jorge Posada will retire Tuesday, according to the Yankees.
The 40-year-old Posada played all 17 of his Major League seasons with the Bronx Bombers.
Last year, he hit .235 with 14 homers and 44 RBIs.
A five-time All-Star, Posada was part of five World Series championship teams and is second all-time in playoff games played.
He finishes his career with a .273 batting average, 275 home runs, and 1,065 RBIs.
