Pentagon: Bergdahl Confirmed Alive

(WASHINGTON, DC) – Pentagon officials have confirmed that a video of an Idaho soldier currently being held captive by the Taliban was recorded last month.
The video of Army Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl was made Dec. 13. This is the first conclusive evidence of Bergdahl being alive since 2011. Although accounts of Bergdahl’s prisoner of war status differ, the 27-year-old was captured in June 2009 by the Taliban-affiliated Haqqani Network after walking off base in Afghanistan. Authorities say Bergdahl mentioned the death of Nelson Mandela in his remarks, and that he appears visibly weaker.
