Should 129,000-pound trucks be allowed on U.S. 30?

The following is a news release from the Idaho Department of Transportation.

POCATELLO — A public hearing will be held in Pocatello to take comment on an application allowing trucks weighing up to 129,000 pounds on a section of U.S. 30.

These shipments are reducible, meaning cargo or goods can be removed to make a shipment lighter.

Comments will be taken on an application to allow trucks on U.S. 30 from Milepost 330.82 to Milepost 333.447, (the Pacific Recycling location on U.S. 30 to the junction of U.S. 30 and Interstate 86.)

The hearing will be Tuesday, May 31, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Pocatello City Hall, 911 N. 7th Avenue, Pocatello.

Transportation department staff will be at the hearing to answer questions, and there will be an opportunity to give verbal or written testimony.
