As it turns out, he could miss just one game as Forte is optimistic he return to the field for Monday Night Football against Dallas Cowboys.

“I didn’t really swell up in the ankle, so that’s the big part,” Forte said after practicing with the team. “When you have an ankle injury when the swelling is big, takes a long time to get it out. But I didn’t really swell up, so I felt like I’d be back pretty soon.”

Forte was at one point asked if he thinks he will suit up on Monday, he simply responded, “yeah.”

Forte is the focal point of the Chicago Bears offense in both the running game and passing game. During the offseason, he signed a 4-year extension worth $32 million.
