(NEW YORK) — Glee fans don’t panic: Chris Colfer is not leaving the hit Fox series.
A tweet sent from the actor’s official Twitter account Thursday afternoon declared, “Due to personal issues, I have been let go from the cast of GLEE. Explanations will come shortly…”
Don’t you believe it. A rep for the actor told ABC News that his Twitter account had been hacked, and that he will indeed return to the show for its final season.
20th Century Fox TV also issued a statement, saying, “We’ve been alerted that Chris Colfer’s twitter account has been hacked. Rumors of his dismissal from Glee could not be further from the truth. We love Chris and look forward to working with him again this season.”
Colfer has played Kurt Hummel on Glee since 2009, a role that’s garnered him two Emmy nominations and a Golden Globe.
