According to a release from the U.S. Embassy in Tel Aviv, concerns about security have led to a requirement for advance approval if U.S. personnel want to travel within 1.5 miles of the border with Lebanon, or travel on or east of Route 98 in the Golan Heights. Additionally, U.S. government employees are barred from using public buses throughout Israel and the West Bank.
All U.S. citizens are urged to maintain valid travel documents.
On Wednesday morning, at least nine people were stabbed on a bus near Tel Aviv. The suspected attacker was identified only as a 23-year-old Palestinian man.
