Will Ferrell to Play in Five MLB Spring Training Games for Ten Teams in HBO, Funny Or Die Special

Photo by Steve Grayson/WireImage(NEW YORK) — Will Ferrell is set to star in a new HBO special from Funny Or Die, in which he will play in five MLB spring training games in one day, appearing for 10 different teams.
According to a press release from HBO, Ferrell is dedicating the special to the fight against cancer, while honoring a feat accomplished by former MLB All-Star Bert Campaneris, who played every position on the field in a single game for the Kansas City Athletics in 1965.
Ferrell will spend his Thursday traveling across Arizona to take part in five different games at five different stadiums.
“Spring training affords an appropriate setting where our game can serve as the backdrop for an event that will benefit organizations that fight cancer,” MLB Commissioner Rob Manfred said in a statement.
One important method of fundraising will be the eventual auction of game-used memorabilia from the hectic day. Proceeds from the auction will be donated to Cancer for College and Stand Up to Cancer.
In 2010, Ferrell pitched in a minor league baseball game for the Round Rock Express as “Billy Ray ‘Rojo’ Johnson.”
