IDAHO FALLS — A structure fire at a salvage yard in Idaho Falls has been contained, officials confirmed Tuesday afternoon.

Dozens of firefighters, four engines, several tanker trucks and Bonneville County sheriff’s deputies responded to the blaze at 2997 N. 15th East just before 2 p.m.

Firefighters say the fire started in a car inside a dismantling facility and spread to the structure.

Bonneville County Sheriff’s Sgt. Bryan Lovell said a spark from a cutting touch that was being used on the car ignited some flammable material.

I-Pull co-owner James Boone tells EastIdahoNews.com five men were working at the yard when the fire started shortly before 2 p.m. They are all safe and accounted for. One employee was treated on scene for minor injuries.

No one was in the car-dismantling facility when the fire started.

Firefighters were able to contain the blaze to one building and get it under control by 3 p.m.
