People are glued to live video showing Jackson Hole

JACKSON HOLE, Wyoming — A YouTube live video showing the town square in Jackson Hole is garnering interest from thousands of people around the world.

Jackson, with a population of 9,800 people, began streaming live footage of the town square on July 20. Since then, the video channel has developed a major following. As of this writing, 1,152 people are watching the “Jackson Hole Town Square” video.

Nothing particularly exciting happens in the livestream. It’s mainly just cars and people passing through a busy intersection. Watchers continually leave comments with new messages popping up on screen every second.

Certain elements of the Jackson livestream have taken on their own mythology. One of those is an enthusiasm for red trucks, which are singled out whenever they drive by. Some people are now going to the town square to share their red truck love in person.

It’s uncertain how long the fascination will last but with the video’s popularity still holding strong at nearly two months old, people could be glued to this channel for a long time coming.
