IDAHO FALLS — For the second time this week, a man was tackled and disarmed by local bar patrons.

Police reports show 32‐year‐old Adam L. Kennedy was arrested for robbery late Wednesday night at the Peppertree Lounge at 888 N. Holmes Ave., according to an Idaho Falls police news release.

The Boise man allegedly threatened a 27‐year‐old Idaho Falls man with what appeared by be a handgun. Police officials say Kennedy demanded all the man’s money and stole cash from him.

After complying with the request, the victim went into the Peppertree and yelled that he had been robbed. Bar employees called police and a number of bar patrons exited the bar, chased down and tackled Kennedy on Whittier Street.

Police spokeswoman Joelyn Hansen said police arrived on the scene around 11:50 p.m. and detained Kennedy. He was found with the victim’s money and a portion of an airsoft rifle.

Officers also determined Kennedy was a walkaway from the Bonneville County Jail work-release program.

Bonneville County Sgt. Bryan Lovell said Kennedy walked away from his place of employment and did not return to the jail Feb. 10. A warrant for Kennedy’s arrest had been requested, but not yet issued.

Online court records show Kennedy was serving a 60-day jail sentence for driving a vehicle without the owner’s consent.

Kennedy was once again booked into the Bonneville County Jail.

In a separate incident earlier this week, a local man was also tackled by bar patrons when he allegedly showed up at the Roadhouse Saloon with a rifle and a handgun.
