BINGHAM COUNTY — A 2-year-old child is in critical condition after becoming trapped inside of an SUV that drove into water.

Bingham County Sheriff Craig Rowland tells EastIdahoNews.com the child’s parents and another child were driving in the Rose Pond area of the county when they went off the road and into water.

The parents and one of the children were able to get out of the submerged SUV but the 2-year-old was stuck inside, according to Rowland.

Search and Rescue divers rushed to the scene and rescued the child, who was taken to Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center. The parents and other child were treated at Bingham Memorial Hospital.
