BLACKFOOT — A student who was accused of making threats against Firth High School will not be charged, according to Bingham County Sheriff Craig Rowland.

“After being interviewed in depth by the detectives, it was determined that the student had not make any particular threat towards the school or anyone at the school,” Rowland said in a news release. “He made a comment a couple of weeks ago that was being treated at the school administration level.”

Firth schools were placed on lockdown Monday around 7:15 a.m. after law enforcement became aware of the threat. Officers responded from Bingham County Sheriff’s Office, Blackfoot Police Department, Shelley Police Department and the joint detectives division to assist.

The schools were taken off lockdown around 8:10 a.m. and students returned to their classes or were able to go home if they desired.
