Grassy Ridge Fire remains very active; grows to 4,400 acres

ST. ANTHONY — The Grassy Ridge Fire has grown to an estimated 4,400 acres overnight.
The fire, located 15 miles northwest of St. Anthony near Red Road, started around 3 p.m. Thursday.
Bulldozers and firefighters worked into the early morning hours, but were unable to knock down the fire, Bureau of Land Management spokeswoman Kelsey Griffee said.
Firefighters did achieve a 30 percent containment, but the fire continues to move northwest and east. Crews are continuing to work toward full containment.
Thus far no structures have been threatened and the fire has only burned grass and brush.
