IDAHO FALLS — Idaho State Police are asking for coats and food that can be given to children in need this holiday season.

Troopers will be at Broadway Ford at 980 W. Broadway Street in Idaho Falls on Friday, Nov. 30 collecting coats. On Saturday, Dec. 1, troopers will be accepting coats and food from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m at Broulim’s in Ammon.

Residents are invited to drop off new or slightly used coats and food donations on each day.

Local ISP spokesman Lt. Chris Weadick says ISP is partnering with local businesses throughout southeastern Idaho communities to provide coats, and turkey dinners. ISP even has access to new kids beds that will be delivered before Christmas.

If they end up with excess donations, items will be given to places like The Haven Temporary Shelter in Idaho Falls.
