Police searching for shooters after 55-year-old man shot inside home

The following is a news release from the Pocatello Police Department.

POCATELLO — Authorities are investigating a shooting that occurred early Friday morning in a home at 1242 N Main in Pocatello.

Police dispatch received a 911 call at 2:21 am this morning. Upon officer’s arrival, they located a 55-year-old male who had been shot in his home by intruders. The victim was transported to the Portneuf Medical Center by ambulance.

The initial investigation indicates two suspects may have been attempting to commit a burglary at a nearby business. The victim possibly observed the crime in progress. As a result, the suspects forcibly entered the victim’s residence, shooting the adult victim once in the abdomen, before fleeing the scene. A juvenile was also residing in the home at the time of the incident.

The Pocatello Police Department are currently seeking a Hispanic male wearing a blue mask and a hat and a Caucasian male wearing jeans and an orange and cream colored shirt or coat.
