MILLCREEK, Utah — Three juveniles are in custody after a stolen vehicle crashed into the Unified Police Department precinct in Millcreek early Monday morning.

The crash occurred about 6:40 a.m. when the 14-year-old driver lost control of the vehicle on 3900 South, according to Unified police. The vehicle crashed into a Unified police station at 1580 E. 3900 South, and the three juveniles, a 14-year-old boy and two 13-year-old girls, fled on foot.

Officials had taken one of the juveniles into custody but were searching for the other two and set up containment in the area, according to Unified police public information officer Ken Hansen. All three were in custody shortly before 8 a.m.

Police said the vehicle involved was stolen and belonged to an adult that one of the teens was living with.

Christina Wright, a gas station attendant, witnessed the crash from the store.

“(I) just saw a car turning, it was making a right-hand turn (and) it started fishtailing and it went right into the police station,” Wright said. “And then a whole bunch of kids got out and started booking it back up toward Highland Drive.”

Police said the crash was a combination of being weather-related and not knowing how to drive.
