CHUBBUCK — Officials have obtained a nationwide extradition arrest warrant for a man suspected of shooting a Chubbuck resident Thursday.

The Chubbuck Police department says 20-year-old Kane Simons is wanted on a felony aggravated battery charge and is considered armed and dangerous. Simmons is described as a six and a half foot white male, weighing 200 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes. Simons is on probation for a felony burglary charge from 2018.

Chubbuck Police officers received a 911 call around midnight Thursday from a man on the 4600 block of Ponderosa Street who told them he had been shot, according to a news release. He was rushed to Portneuf Medical Center. Little information is being released about the victim however, officials say they believe the injuries were not life-threatening.

“We appreciate all of the calls and messages we have received from our community in reference to this incident, and we are following up on all of the credible information we have received,” officials said in a news release.
