UPDATE:

The Teton Pass has reopened Friday afternoon.

ORIGINAL STORY:

VICTOR — Wyoming Highway 22 is closed again in the Teton Pass due to another avalanche.

The pass has experienced at least three avalanches this week, which has caused closures on the Teton Pass.

Friday’s avalanche occurred in the Twin Slide area at around 7:30 a.m. It left about 3 to 4 feet of snow across the roadways, Wyoming Department of Transportation spokeswoman Stephanie Harsha told EastIdahoNews.com.

Crews are working to clear the road, however, no estimate has been given on when the road will reopen.

No one was struck by the avalanche and there were no injuries.

The cause of the avalanche is being investigated.

The Bridger-Teton Avalanche Center says the danger of avalanches remains considerable on the Teton Pass.

Significant winter weather has been impacting the region all month. By Feb. 26, the month of February had become the second snowiest month in Jackson’s history, with a total of 47.8 inches, which doesn’t include last night’s storm totals, according to a WYDOT news release.
