Man arrested on aggravated assault charges after police pursuit

The following is a news release from the Bingham County Sheriff’s Office.

BLACKFOOT — A California man was arrested in Bingham County Monday following a police pursuit.

Police reports show at about 4:30 p.m. the Bingham County Sheriff’s Office received a complaint of a reckless driver traveling southbound on U.S. Highway 91 at about 1000 North.

Deputies responded to the area and located the driver and began a pursuit with the subject. The pursuit went south on U.S. 91 almost to Chubbuck where deputies discontinued the chase.

A short time later dispatch received a call from an Idaho State Police officer that they had found the vehicle and wanted deputies to respond back to where they had located the subject. Bingham County deputies responded to the scene and took Timothy Lemmons, 42, into custody.

A search warrant was obtained for Lemmons’ vehicle. When the search warrant was executed on Tuesday, deputies found property that belonging to individuals residing in Bingham County.

Lemmons is being held on felony eluding an officer and felony aggravated assault charges.

His bond is set at $75,000.
