REXBURG — The Rexburg Police Department arrested 36-year-old Janessa Stevens of Rigby for felony grand theft, criminal fraud using a computer, and fraudulent use of a transaction card.

The charges come after an investigation into her alleged conduct as an employee at the Cedar Ridge Animal Hospital in Rexburg.

RPD Detective Chuck Kunsaitis said in a news release that over a three year time period, Stevens had fraudulently taken over $126,000 from the veterinary clinic.

Stevens was arrested on Dec. 3 and booked into the Madison County Jail. She posted a $75,000 bail and was released.

Being charged with a crime does not automatically mean someone committed the crime. Everyone is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

Kunsaitis is asking the public to contact the Rexburg Police Department at (208) 359-3000 if you have any information regarding this case or possible others involving Stevens.
