INKOM — A structure fire in Inkom is under control after burning for nearly five hours and completely destroying a workshop.

The McCammon Volunteer Fire Department responded to a fire on Old Highway 91 just before 10 p.m. Sunday night, according to a news release from the department.

The fire was fully involved when fire crews arrived, meaning that the structure was unsafe for entry. Additional support was requested and help arrived from the Inkom and Arimo Fire Departments. In total, five engines, three water tenders and more than 20 firefighters were called to the scene to battle the blaze.

By the time the fire was extinguished, the workshop was a complete loss and the vinyl siding on a nearby residence suffered minor damage. No injuries were reported.

Fire crews remained on-site until around 2:30 a.m. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
