Every week I’m interviewing fascinating people in our community, nation and around the world.

Kelly Lang is a singer, songwriter and producer who has written music for Ricky Skaggs, Lorrie Morgan, The Oak Ridge Boys, Crystal Gayle, George Jones, B.J. Thomas, Jimmy Fortune, T.G. Sheppard, Jerry Lee Lewis and more. She’s recorded duets with Olivia Newton-John, Paul Shaffer and Lee Greenwood.

Kelly is an accomplished artist whose oil paintings hang in the homes of Oprah Winfrey, Sir Barry Gibb, Larry the Cable Guy and more.

I was honored that Kelly wanted to answer 7 Questions! Here’s what I asked her:

  • How did you get your start in the music industry?
  • What do you like better – writing songs or performing music?
  • You’ve collaborated with a lot of talented musicians. Do you have a favorite duet?
  • Can you tell me something about yourself that might surprise me?
  • Have you ever been to Idaho and tried our famous potatoes?
  • If you could perform with anyone, who would you choose?
  • Can you share a piece of advice you’ve been given that might help me in my life?
