Slide-off closes highway north of Felt

FELT — Winter driving conditions have led to the closure of State Highway 32 on Friday, the Fremont County Sheriff’s Office announced on its Facebook page.
A semi-truck carrying an oversized load lost traction on the slick roads, said Deputy Chief Bart Quayle of the Fremont County Sheriff’s Office. The truck went off the road near Bitch Creek, north of Felt. No one was hurt.
“Crews have been out all day county-wide cleaning up from the storm,” Quayle told EastIdahoNews.com.

Emergency crews have been responding to slide-offs and crashes all over eastern Idaho Friday morning, as snow and icy roads are causing slick conditions.
“(We’re) just urging patience and caution during winter driving conditions,” Quayle said.
Highway 32 will be closed “for the foreseeable future” while crews get the truck back on its way. Drivers should use an alternate route of travel or plan on waiting.
