POCATELLO — A man who pleaded guilty to one count of lewd conduct with a minor has been sent to prison.

Sebastian David Greenfield, 33, entered the guilty plea after reaching a plea agreement with the Bannock County Prosecutor’s Office. In exchange, a second charge of the same crime and a persistent violator enhancement were dismissed.

During a Tuesday hearing, Greenfield was sentenced to a prison term of 15 to 25 years by District Judge Rick Carnaroli.

Greenfield was arrested last July after Bannock County Sheriff’s deputies were informed of sexual contact he’d made with two “pre-pubescent girls.”

The victims, who were 7 and 9 at the time of the attacks, spoke with a child therapist. One of the two described being “sad and mad” while Greenfield assaulted her. The other victim said she told Greenfield what he was doing hurt her and said he responded by telling her, “she would get used to it.”

They said Greenfield threatened them with violence if they informed anyone.

Deputies said Greenfield tried to run from their arrest when they attempted to question him about the allegations. They were able to catch him before he could escape, though.

In addition to the prison sentence, Carnaroli ordered Greenfield to pay 2,495.50 in fees and fines.
