PINGREE — A woman has been arrested after crashing into a house while allegedly under the influence.

On Monday at 9:15 p.m., the Bingham County Sheriff’s Office responded to a call about a 2020 Hyundai Tucson crashing into a house.

“We heard a huge crash, and it shook the house,” said Robert Evans, who lives on the property.

Evans was sitting inside the house and initially thought a willow tree branch had fallen on it. He says he went to the back of the house and saw that the wall had caved in.

“Some woman was out there calling for help, and I thought, ‘What the hell is going on?'” Evans said.

According to Lt. Gary Yancey with the Bingham County Sheriff’s Office, 33-year-old Analicia Contreras was reportedly driving south on 1200 West in Pingree. As the Tucson reached the corner on 600 South, her vehicle went off the road and crashed into the house, causing extensive damage.

Contreras sustained minor injuries, and an ambulance took her to the hospital. Evans says no one in the house was injured.

Contreras was later arrested and booked into the Bingham County Jail.

She is charged with leaving the scene of a property damage accident and driving under the influence, both misdemeanors.

Evans says the damage to the house is about $20,000.

Though Contreras has been charged with these crimes, this does not necessarily mean she committed them. Everyone is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
