IDAHO FALLS – Two local shelters were gifted a large donation in time for Mother’s Day.

Two Men and a Truck, a moving company off Yellowstone Highway in Idaho Falls, dropped off a variety of items for women at the Bingham Crisis Center and the Idaho Falls Rescue Mission. Items included bath and body care products, hygiene products, cleaning supplies, dry goods, shoes, clothing, bedding, and more.

The drop-off at Idaho Falls Rescue Mission happened on Wednesday and at the Bingham Crisis Center on Thursday. The official amount of donations at both locations is still being determined, but Lucas Keefe, part-owner and general manager of Two Men and a Truck, estimates it was roughly 4,000 items in total.

He tells EastIdahoNews.com it was an amazing experience to see the joy it brought to shelter residents.

“Being able to give back to such an amazing community is (so rewarding),” Keefe says.

The items were collected from local businesses and members of the community last month as part of the company’s annual Movers for Moms drive. Keller Williams Realty sponsored a donation day at Fred Meyer recently, collecting more than 2,000 items.

Two Men and a Truck is a national franchise, and opened its first eastern Idaho location last year. It provided donations for the Bingham Crisis Center during the 2024 event, but this was its first year working with the rescue mission.

It’s not clear how many items the Bingham Crisis Center received last year, but Executive Director Scott Smith is appreciative of the community’s generosity in providing needed items through this drive.

“I’m overwhelmed and very excited,” Smith says. “All of these items are things we were running out of and in desperate need of.”

For residents’ safety, he declined to say how many women are currently staying at the crisis center. It serves between 350 and 400 clients a year, and Smith says this donation will benefit a large number of them.

Kami Higham, the donor relations coordinator at Idaho Falls Rescue Mission, is grateful Two Men and a Truck included them in its donation drive this year and is appreciative of the community’s generosity.

“It’s pretty eye-opening what a great community we live in and how giving people are,” Higham says. “The selflessness of these people donating to women they don’t even know (is humbling).”

Keefe is grateful to Keller Williams, Fred Meyer and many other business who provided assistance and donations to make the donation drive a success.

“It was an amazing turnout, and I couldn’t be more thankful,” says Keefe.
