Identity released of 18-year-old drowning victim

GRACE — The identity of an 18-year-old man who died by drowning has been released.
Caribou County Coroner Casey Batterton identified the man as Kameron Aden Bowers of Pocatello.
“I want to express my deep condolences for Bowers’ family, friends and loved ones,” says Batterton.

According to a news release from the Caribou County Sheriff’s Office, Bowers was swimming with friends on Saturday, May 31, when he jumped into the Bear River from the Last Chance Flume north of Grace. He went under the water and did not surface.
The sheriff’s office was called shortly before 2 p.m. Deputies responded with Caribou County EMS and Caribou County Search and Rescue. The Bear Lake County Sheriff’s Office also assisted with its dive team. Bowers’ body was found at 8:20 p.m.
Last Chance Lane was closed for six hours while crews conducted search operations.
“We would like to thank the many professional responders from Caribou County, Bear Lake County, Idaho State Police and the volunteers who assisted at the scene,” the sheriff’s office wrote on Facebook. “Our condolences go out to the family and friends of the victim during this difficult time.”
