Church of Jesus Christ to announce new First Presidency during special broadcast

SALT LAKE CITY — The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints will announce a new First Presidency during a live worldwide broadcast on Tuesday at 1 p.m. Mountain Daylight Time.
The announcement will be made from Temple Square in Salt Lake City and will feature messages from church leaders. The First Presidency — consisting of the President of the Church and two counselors — is the Church’s highest governing body. According to Church teachings, Jesus Christ leads His Church through a living prophet who serves as President, supported by two Apostles as counselors.
The broadcast will be available in 10 languages, including Chinese, English, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese, Russian, and Spanish. Recordings of the event will remain available online following the live transmission.
The event is open to the public and will be livestreamed on EastIdahoNews.com.
