An animated ‘Stranger Things’ and other shows coming to Netflix in April

Editor’s note: The following is part of an ongoing entertainment segment to help local users find out monthly changes to popular streaming platforms.

Strange things are happening on Netflix in April … or perhaps we should say “Stranger Things.”

On April 23, the streaming service will debut the animated series “Stranger Things: Tales from ’85,” chronicling the adventures of your favorite group of kids from Hawkins, Indiana. Netflix says it’s the same characters, voiced by different actors, and set between Seasons 2 and 3 of the original show.

The true-crime documentary “Trust Me: The False Prophet,” which has already created some buzz online, drops April 8. Netflix says it tells the story of how “a cult expert and filmmaker infiltrate a polygamist sect to expose a self-proclaimed prophet and bring him to justice.”

And don’t forget to get your 007 fix in before April 21. That’s when the James Bond movie canon is scheduled to leave Netflix.
