Heyburn man identified as motorcyclist killed in Burley crash

BURLEY — The Cassia County Coroner has identified a motorcyclist who was killed in a crash Friday night in Burley.
Coroner Craig Rinehart confirmed that Patrick H. Novak, 59, of Heyburn, died in the crash. His next of kin has been notified.
The two-vehicle crash happened around 10:21 p.m. at 1033 West Bedke Boulevard, according to Idaho State Police.
Police say Novak was riding a 2015 Kawasaki motorcycle north on Bedke Boulevard when he crossed into the left lane and collided with an unnamed 33-year-old Burley man, who was southbound in a 2013 Jeep Grand Cherokee.
Novak, who was wearing a helmet, died at the scene. The driver of the Jeep was wearing a seat belt and sustained minor injuries, but was not hospitalized.
Emergency crews blocked the road for about two hours while investigating the crash.
The Cassia County Sheriff’s Office was involved, along with the Burley Fire Department and Cassia Regional Hospital medics.
Idaho State Police is still investigating the crash.
