Researchers Offer Tips to Improve Your Twitter Skills
Published at(NEW YORK) — Researchers have found a handful of ways that can improve your Twitter skills and garner more retweets.
According to a study conducted by researchers at Cornell University, there are a handful of tricks you can use to improve your odds of getting retweeted. Among their findings, tweets that ask others to share, including the words “retweet,” “spread,” and “please” or using more detail and/or numbers to be informative are more likely to be passed along by Twitter users.
The researchers also found that popular messages imitated news headlines, used words described as emotionally strong — positively or negatively — and using easier-to-read words could increase your retweet rate.
The researchers also created a website where users can input two tweets on the same subject, written differently, to determine which is more likely to be retweeted.
