Man taken to hospital after car rolls, lands in field

The following is an update from Idaho State Police.

On Thursday, April 1, at approximately 3:23 p.m., Idaho State Police investigated a crash, eastbound US20 at milepost 295 west of Idaho Falls.

James McAlister, 77, of Mackay, was driving eastbound on US 20 in a 2003 Subaru Legacy. McAlister drove off the left shoulder and the vehicle came to rest in a field.

McAlister was transported by ground ambulance to Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center in Idaho Falls. He was wearing a seatbelt. Idaho State Police was assisted by Bonneville County Sheriff’s Office, Idaho Transportation Department, Idaho Falls Fire Department, and Idaho Falls Ambulance.

IDAHO FALLS — First responders rushed a man to the hospital after a crash on U.S. Highway 20 Thursday afternoon.

It happened on the highway nine miles west of Idaho Falls around 3:20 p.m. The Idaho Transportation Department reported the crash blocked the road.

Idaho Falls Fire Fire Department spokeswoman Kerry Hammon tells EastIdahoNews.com a man was rushed to the hospital. It was reported the vehicle rolled and the man needed to be extricated from the vehicle.

Idaho State Police were not immediately available for comment.
