American Falls Little Theatre celebrates 25 years with full 2027 season

AMERICAN FALLS — Twenty-five years after the American Falls Little Theatre first took the stage, the community theater is preparing to celebrate the milestone with a full season of productions in 2027.
The anniversary season will feature three musicals, the return of season tickets and sponsorship opportunities, a special 25th anniversary celebration, and other activities throughout the year.
The theater is also encouraging people interested in acting, volunteering or otherwise becoming involved to join in the fun.

“It’s going to be a year filled with a lot of memories and appreciation for the 25 years of hard work and dedication that have gotten us where we are today,” theater spokesperson Lane Dover said.
The 2027 lineup includes “Sister Amnesia’s Country Western Nunsense Jamboree” in the spring, “You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown” in the summer and “I Do! I Do!” in the fall.
‘Sister Amnesia’s Country Western Nunsense Jamboree’
The theater will open its season with “Sister Amnesia’s Country Western Nunsense Jamboree,” the third installment in Dan Goggin’s popular “Nunsense” musical series.
The show follows Sister Mary Paul, better known as Sister Amnesia, who regains her memory after a crucifix falls on her head. She remembers her lifelong dream of becoming a country singer and, with help from her fellow sisters and Father Virgil, takes her “Nunsense Jamboree” tour on the road to promote her album, “I Could’ve Gone to Nashville.”
Auditions will be held Sept. 28, 29 and 30 at the American Falls Little Theatre. Those auditioning should prepare a 30-second comedic monologue and 30 seconds of an upbeat song.
Performances are scheduled for April 1, 2, 3, 8, 9, 10, 15, 16 and 17.
‘You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown’
The summer production, “You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown,” will bring the familiar Peanuts gang to the stage, including Charlie Brown, Lucy, Linus and Snoopy.
The musical explores the friendships, frustrations, dreams and small victories of childhood and will provide opportunities for younger performers to sing, dance and take the stage.
Performances are scheduled for July 8, 9, 10, 15, 16 and 17.
‘I Do! I Do!’
The final production carries particular significance for the theater. “I Do! I Do!” was the first show performed by the American Falls Little Theatre 25 years ago.
The musical follows Michael and Agnes through five decades of marriage, beginning with their wedding day and continuing through raising a family, weathering changes and eventually growing old together.
The anniversary production will also feature guest direction from Tamara Kress, who Dover said was instrumental in the founding of the Little Theatre.
“We thought it was especially fitting to bring ‘I Do! I Do!’ back for our 25th anniversary since it was the first show performed at the Little Theatre,” Dover said. “Having Tamara Kress return to direct makes it even more special.”
Performances are scheduled for Sept. 30 and Oct. 1, 2, 7, 8 and 9.
Celebrating 25 years
The anniversary season also marks the return of season tickets after the theater took what Dover described as a lengthy hiatus from presenting full seasons.
“We took a long hiatus from doing full seasons for a multitude of reasons, but we are so excited to be back,” Dover said.
Season tickets will cost $40 and include one seat for each of the three productions. The theater is also bringing back its season sponsorship program and booklets, with sponsorship opportunities available for individuals and businesses.
The anniversary is also providing an opportunity for the theater to recognize some of the people who have helped keep it going.
Dover specifically thanked longtime board members Luis Perez, Sydni Baron and Jill Eggers, who have left or will soon leave the board.
“We deeply appreciate their work, leadership and guidance over the past several years,” Dover said. “We look forward to seeing them in the audience instead of behind the scenes this time.”
The theater is also welcoming new board members and the return of some familiar faces.
Additional events are planned throughout 2027 to commemorate the theater’s 25th anniversary, including a special celebration as well as classes and other opportunities for community members to participate.
“We want to give an enormous thank you to our community and our audiences who continue to support us and allow us to create a space for laughter, tears and so much more,” Dover said.
