Spooktakular! Halloween craft fair returns to Blackfoot at new location

BLACKFOOT — A little Halloween spirit and plenty of handmade treasures are coming to Blackfoot as Main St. Crafters prepares for its two-day “Spooktakular Event” Craft Fair at a new location this year.
The event will take place on Friday, Oct. 16, from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m., and on Saturday, Oct. 17, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., at Riverbend Elementary School, 730 East Walker Street in Blackfoot.
Organizer Paula Rittenour said she and MerriLee Jorgensen founded Main St. Crafters, a local group that hosts four craft shows each year, including the upcoming Halloween event.
More than 40 vendors are expected to offer everything from baked goods and jewelry to clothing, toys, seasonal decorations and unique gifts.

This time around, the group is adding a little Halloween fun to the shopping experience.
“We will be wearing costumes, and there will be two baskets raffled off on Saturday at the end of the day,” Rittenour said.
Shoppers will receive one raffle ticket for each vendor booth where they make a purchase. Participating vendors will contribute items to the two prize baskets.
Rittenour said the group works to provide shoppers with a wide selection of merchandise while supporting local artisans and small businesses.
“We do our best not to have vendors selling the same or similar items,” she said.
The event offers shoppers a chance to get a head start on holiday shopping while supporting local vendors and enjoying a little Halloween spirit.
