Magnitude 4.9 Earthquake Shakes Idaho
Published at(BOISE, Idaho) — A magnitude 4.9 earthquake struck northeast of Boise on Saturday morning.
According to the U.S. Geological Survey, the epicenter of the quake was about four miles east of Challis, Idaho. The tremor occurred about 5.1 miles deep within the earth.
The largest ever earthquake in Idaho was a magnitude 6.9 quake in October 1983.
