The price of a gallon of premium unleaded gas climbed to $7.99 a gallon last week at the Bridgeway Gas Station, according to a report by the San Francisco Chronicle.

The owner, David Mann, told the newspaper on Friday he increased prices because he’s tired of people complaining about how much they have to pay for gas.

“Yesterday, some guy asked me, ‘How high are you going to go?’” Mann told the Chronicle. “I said, ‘As high as I need to go to get you to stop complaining.’”

The price increase hasn’t yet made a dent in Mann’s business. He told the Chronicle there are enough wealthy residents and tourists in the area to keep his pumps busy.
