The video – released by the Spanish Fork Police – shows people rushing to the overturned vehicle, which crashed into the Spanish Fork River outside Salt Lake City last weekend.

The video shows the car scraped and dented from the crash. The responders position themselves against the car, trying to flip it over, as water splashes against its mangled doors.

Rescuers did not initially realize the child was in the car, although officers and firefighters reported hearing a voice asking for help before locating her.

The toddler’s mother, Lynn Jennifer Groesbeck, 25, was driving the car and died in the crash. The girl was initially taken to Primary Children’s Hospital in Salt Lake City but was released days later.
